The National Dance Association had a treasured collection of oral histories from luminaries of twentieth century dance education. The time spanned for collecting the oral histories was from 1971 to 1993, and had resulted in a mass of cassette tapes, magnetic tapes, and typewritten interviews.
With new technology, a new century, organizational changes, and soon-to-be-lost memories, one dedicated volunteer spearheaded the effort to preserve those invaluable stories. CF&A helped turn those memories into permanent form in time for an annual meeting where they were presented to professionals whose collective memories dated from the 1920s.
